sacrilege

I cut up a Tommy Hilfiger bedskirt that I found while thrifting.  It felt like a no-no cutting up ol' Tommy's goods but really I'm neither a follower or a fan so what the heck.  I live on the wild side.

sacrilege

I unknowingly split the tag, it makes for a great effect.

The fabric will be repurposed into a twirl skirt or two for Miss A
and Miss J.  They are both rejecting the idea of wearing pants right
now so with all else that is  currently going on, I'm sewing skirts and dresses for them.  Don't let my whine fool you, I love it!

Guess what I woke up to today?  Snow!!  Yikes, another sacrilege.  I was really hoping I was still in a dream when I came down stairs to find a blanket of white stuff all over my lawn.  Snow, snow, go away, come back another year....   Until sometime next week, have a good one.

self talk

Hi blog, what's new with you? We've been spending our (few) free hours, during the week and on weekends, house shopping.  Tonight we put and offer in on a home that I am almost certain will return back with a counter offer.  We like the house, but not the price.  Ain't that the way.

This all consuming place that we are in is really starting to reflect in my blogging hiatus.  It may just have to be so until things are a bit more settled.  I know, I know, 'wait until we start the packing'.

Amidst the craziness I stole some time away for a therapeutic sewing session on Friday evening.  There are a few more babies being born and in need of something cuddly :)  It was delightful to handle and view such vibrant, colorful fabrics; and for a wee couple of hours I felt a bit giddy that something concrete was completed in my day.  When life is up in the air it is nice to find your stability in the simplest of things.

Until we chat again, xoxo.

do you think...

...I should tell this little guy, who loves to hang out on our playstructure, that we may have just sold our home over the weekend?

...I should let him know that we won't be here to fill the feeder in a little while?

...I should panic now or later, that we still haven't found a house to move into?

what is it they say?

...absence makes the heart grow fonder...  My poor blog and dear readers, I'm sorry I've been unexpectedly away.  Last week I had planned to fit in some major sewing time until I realized that it was spring break for school kids.  Now being a homeschooling mumma, we don't necessarily subscribe to the same spring break but this time around my boys wanted to spend some quality time with their cousin and so began our week of trips to & fro, sleepovers, as well as endless trips to view homes currently for sale, *yawn* -that was the boring part, please tell me there is a home out there with our name on it?  I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention our trip early on in the week to the children's emergency as Miss A fell and hit her head on the coffee table (again).  This time it was a pretty deep cut but after multiple hours waiting in the emergency, some cleaning, glue and a popsicle she was as good as new.  Hmm, I wonder if I could have accomplished the same thing at home with some crazy glue??

oops

Just kidding folks ;)    Miss A is doing really good and that crazy little monkey has already forgotten her big bump as she continues to climb the furniture and engage in tons of rough play.  I've moved the coffee table too, for those concerned.

owiee

On an end note, it was nice to find that I actually might have a few readers out there.  I was mentioned by SewandSox - a sewing-redsox-craft-blogger, now that is an interesting combination!

Be back next week.  Have a great weekend!
